In this very heartfelt and genuine episode, Michael Greenlee and Hannah Vale talk with Lisa Von Lehmden about her personal story of buying and selling an agency while navigating industry changes.
Lisa Von Lehmden has been working within Home and Community Based Services since 2004. She started her career as a Community Education Liaison and has watched the industry transform itself by way of acuity levels, technical innovations, and most recently a shift towards the demand of homecare agencies to negotiate payment models that allow them to sustain and continue providing care to the most frail, sick and disabled. After purchasing her agency in 2014 while pregnant with her son Bradley, Lisa discovered firsthand the operational barriers agencies face on a daily basis. As the chair of the Ohio Council for Home Health Care and Hospice, Lisa spends a large amount of her time advocating for rate change, better care delivery models, and therefore greater access for Ohio based patients and the agencies that serve them.
As a leading industry voice, the Ohio Council for Home Health Care and Hospice is advancing industry standards by providing home and community-based organizations with the advocacy, education, and regulatory support they need to help ensure that individuals receive the highest level of dignity, care, and respect.
